My Vision for Our State
We need long-term thinking in a state budget that will be readily transparent and will have comprehensive accountability. We need our schools properly funded, our churches and pastors shouldn’t be afraid to speak the truth, we need to completely demolish corruption and waste within our government and hand back our state to the people.
Together We Can Build a Strong Foundation!
Faith, Life & Family
Even though Kent’s family had attended church almost every time the door was opened, he did not come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ thru repentance until he was age 28. His growing knowledge and study of the scriptures for the last 40 years has inspired him to the reality that it is a privilege to be a Stewart, caretaker ,and servant to ensure faith, freedom, and policies that benefit our state, now and in the future.
“To speak for those who cannot speak for themselves…”
Let’s Become a Debt Free & Low Tax State
Throughout Kent’s 45 year career, he has learned o create teamwork and to be a servant to the people who work and build the projects. To have high success; one must pray, cast vision, value personnel input, stay on top of the costs, eliminate waste, and create new quality methods to build revenue in a cost effective manner, plus strive to be debt free. This is why the debt of our State needs to be eradicated, but in order to do this, we must first cut unnecessary costs, eliminate duplication, maintain or improve core services, and create avenues to encourage free enterprise, start-up companies, and minimize regulatory burdens.
This will encourage and strengthen the economy, bring in more revenue thus help pay off any debt and reduce taxes.
It CAN be done!
Kent’s strong business background and life experience is an asset to researching and finding long term solutions to Oklahoma’s continuing budget crisis. It is imperative to implement continuing performance audits of all state agencies to inspire efficient use of public funds to provide the services necessary for all Oklahomans.
“Owe nothing to anyone, except to care for one another”
Since Kent learned the value of a good education from a state who was ranked 1st in the Nation, Kent is an advocate for the children of Oklahoma to all have the same opportunity.
Kent believes a good education is based on truth, sound principals, profound teachers, excellent academics and parental support with input. We need to return to a sound foundation of faith and freedom, reduce governmental regulations, paperwork, interference, and reduce administrative cost.
Kent believes in advancing the classroom experience of the student thru increases in teacher salaries, merit pay with performance reviews, classroom books, and supplies. A review of and reform of the curriculum in our schools to ensure strong academics, with good old fashion values that promote good morals, will create an atmosphere of creativity, and ingenuity. Putting control back into the hands of parents and teachers, who have the most love and concern for our students, will bring a joy and refreshing back into the schools.
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
